Minds Restored, Lives Renewed

"

I woke up unable to move my right side. The stroke team acted within minutes, and Dr. Patel performed a thrombectomy that saved my brain. After three months of rehab, I'm back at work and playing with my grandkids. They gave me a second chance at life.

My epilepsy was ruining my life โ€” seizures every week despite medication. Dr. Torres used advanced EEG monitoring to pinpoint the focus, and I had laser ablation surgery. I've been seizure-free for over a year. I finally have my independence back.

When my father was diagnosed with Parkinson's, we felt lost. Dr. Torres started him on a medication regimen and recommended DBS. The transformation has been incredible โ€” his tremors are barely noticeable now. The support from the entire neuro team is outstanding.

Neurology FAQs

Remember B.E. F.A.S.T.: Balance loss, Eyesight changes, Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty โ€” Time to call 1-800-555-1234. Other symptoms include sudden confusion, severe headache, or numbness on one side. Do not wait or drive yourself; call immediately. Early treatment dramatically improves outcomes.
A neurologist diagnoses and treats neurological conditions with medications and non-surgical therapies (like epilepsy drugs or Botox for migraines). A neurosurgeon performs operations on the brain, spine, and nerves. Our team includes both, and they collaborate closely to determine the best treatment path for you.
Recovery is highly individual. Intensive inpatient rehabilitation may last 2โ€“4 weeks after a stroke or brain injury. Outpatient therapy continues for months with periodic reassessments. The brain's ability to rewire (neuroplasticity) means continued improvement is possible long after the initial event with consistent rehabilitation.
While many insurance plans prefer a referral from your primary care provider, you can book directly with our neurology department. For acute symptoms like suspected stroke or seizure, come directly to our emergency department โ€” no referral is needed, and our neuro team will evaluate you immediately.
Please bring a list of all current medications, any previous brain or spine imaging (MRI/CT discs if available), a symptom diary noting when problems occur and what triggers or relieves them, and a family member or friend who can provide additional history if needed. Arrive 20 minutes early for paperwork.
